Dr. Roberto Daza
Roberto Daza García received his B.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Granada, Spain. He obtained his M.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and Universitat Ramon Llull – La Salle. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer and Telecommunication Engineering from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), with Cum Laude distinction and an International Mention.
He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where he conducts his research within the Group for Advanced Interactive Tools (GHIA). His work focuses on the development of biometric and artificial intelligence technologies applied to education, healthcare, and security.
He conducted a doctoral research stay at the Nagao Lab, Nagoya University (Japan), where he explored innovative approaches to enhancing learning through virtual reality technologies and deep learning methods.
Roberto has published numerous scientific papers in high-impact international journals and conferences. He has received research awards from institutions including the eMadrid network, the Spanish Association for Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis (AERFAI), Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and the Doctoral Schools of the Community of Madrid.
He has participated in national and European research projects across areas such as e-learning, healthcare, and cybersecurity. He is currently involved in a national project focused on secure online course supervision for the Spanish Army (GNOSS programme), and has also collaborated with major companies including Accenture, Capgemini...
